Once again, you will think I never understand what is obvious for all others, but a bit of explanation would be welcome ?
What chuck do you mean ?
For me, the lathe chuck or drill chuck is natively made for round pieces, hence the question ?
Maybe you're talking about an other kind of chuck.

Hi Christophe, If you have a disk of metal that is bigger than the lathe chuck and it has a hole in the middle you can bolt it to the screw and nut and put the bolt in the chuck to cut off some metal or turn it. :O)
