    Shop Lights (videos)

Whatever your particular interest(s) out in the shop, if you can't see it, you can't build it. Shop lights (and reading glasses, though that's another story!) are absolutely necessary. Here are a few neat ideas along those lines for your perusal:

Most posts on illumination acknowledge insufficient quantities or elimination of shadows, particular to certain locations in any workspace. As small timers, our typical problem is less-than-ideal ceiling height; requiring additional or moving fixtures. Virtually all wattage[lumen]/ fixture combinations distribute light over an area controlled by bulb type and form of reflector. In such cases, fixtures that bias the perimeter are more successful at covering your space, and counteract your shadow.
