Built of necessity. Made from 10 gauge copper wire and ipe. Simple but functional. Apologies for the terrible picture, I was in the middle of another project and knocked this out quickly.

Great idea and looks easy to make. This will be very useful for the very low wattage sub-miniature pencil soldering irons with heavy power cords that never stay where you leave them on the workbench. Thanks, Paul

Thanks for sharing, wormil. Can't recall how many times I've burnt/melted something not solder with switchless pen-type irons.
