    speed reducer for DP220 drill press

    need to reduce the speed on the drill press below 500 rpm

    It sounds like your drill press may have only 1 belt that goes from the motor to the quill if this is the case you might add a second stage groved pulley like in the photo below

    That is the way I will have to go. Grizzly has a pulley and shaft to mount with. Will be calling them for the height of their Pulley. If it is the same, will go with their parts and slow it down.

    Grizzly pulley, p/n P7943067 is for a 3L belt, the two pulleys on the Atlas DP220 are 4L(1/2"). I found a 4L pulley but need to adapt to Grizzly P7943063 center shaft. What bore is the Grizzly pulley and how are the bearings mounted on the center shaft and pulley?
