Submit your feedback for a free t-shirt!

As a community-oriented forum, it's important that we hear your opinions on a regular basis. While some of you do periodically email and PM, we'd like to encourage you to share your feedback here during October.

At the end of the month, we'll select the ten best comments and award each contributor with a HomemadeTools.net T-shirt.

    Christophe Mineau's Tools
    Hi Ken,
So, let me be the first !
I've been very pleased to join your little community for the few last months, even if I had subscribed to the newsletter for more time than that.
It became something very addictive now to come and visit everyday (what am I saying, x times a day !) and check the feedback on what I have posted
And I must admit it's been also an encouragement for me to keep my website updated so that I can explain and share more what I do, especially thinking about the new visitors I get from the site.

Altair and Dyer are good clients for me and other posters, but I keep thinking I don't know much about them, don't even know their first name I think.
Are you guys working for the site or are you addicted visitors as I am ? (sorry to be straightforward, I don't want to be offending, but I'm just curious about that )
In any cases your encouragements are really meaningful.

Last thing that come to my mind, is about all the external tools you grab with your motor. How do you manage the intellectual property ? Are the tool owners aware that you publish them ?
I feel that in the news letter, you should maybe do something special to highlight the tools posted on the site rather than those grabbed. (I noticed some changes, Ken thanks)

Here it is, all the thoughts I have about the forum
    Long life to it !
    christophe
    Cheers !
    Christophe

    Hi Christophe,

Thanks for the kind words; we certainly try to make the site addictive.

We're glad to hear that we're encouraging you to keep your own site updated. Sending traffic to the sites of homemade tool builders is our specialty.

Altair, DIYer, kbalch, and Jon all work for HomemadeTools.net. Going forward, we plan to add custom user titles in the forum to make those relationships clearer.

Per copyright law, we're allowed to post a single reduced-size image of a tool, linked to the original resource like Google Images. We also credit the builder and website, which Google Images does not do. We will sometimes contact the original builders, either by email, or by posting in their forums, but sometimes we simply can't reach them.

Glad you noticed those newsletter changes. Though we feature several forum-posted tools in each issue (formerly called "Forum Threads to Watch" and recently renamed "Tools Contributed in the Forum") we're planning to do even more to highlight directly contributed tools (such as our new "Homemade Tool of the Week" section).

Thanks for your great comments and for being a valued member of the site!

    Best regards,
    Ken

    Hi Ken and team,
    You're welcome.
Can I have a suggestion : could you provide some code, like social networks do, to be embedded in builders own Websites in order to promote their builder's page on the site ?
Something that "follow me on hommedatools.net", with nice logo, and so on ?
I would be pleased to embed that on LabelleNote.

    See you
    Christophe
    Cheers !

    Hi Christophe,

That's such a fantastic idea that we're calling it a winner right now! It may take a little while to be implemented, but rest assured that it's on our list.

You'll be receiving one of our official HomemadeTools.net T-shirts:
