    Tapping machine/guide

To make tapped holes perfect for pieces that can be aligned vertical. Pics are self explanatory for the plumbing parts needed. The brass fittings are simply bushings that were drilled to fit the shaft going through. I used an on-hand tap holder but your mileage may vary on this. I then simply welded a small flat strap on top. The upright is used when tapping and the ring is used for backing the tap out. Makes it spin really fast out! Please note the wood alignment block below is for my manufacturing. This is not a requirement of the tool. I tap 6-32 through 316 stainless steel as fast as I can spin it down and back out!!!

    1] A conventional enough tool, through non-conventional hardware. That's an A+ at HMT.net .
2] That he taps 316SS rapidly is proof it works! That's another A+ at HMT.net .
Brass fittings as bushings is just plain brilliant. All of us enjoy that!
