Good Morning MR Phelps, Your mission should you decide to accept it -=_+-=--=-=-=-=- Remember our secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.

Wow, that is so clean!! What is the tile mounted on on the door panel?
Ralph
-
Ralph it is hard to tell but if you look real close the structure of the backing resembles hardie backer board. In any event that would be my choice of materials to use
-
We call that style of tiling 'subway'. Those have very narrow or no visible grout lines, and would make this panel near invisible, not to mention perfect camouflage. Who expects a tiled wall can be opened?
-
To make the panel tiles flush with the wall tiles, they have to make up for the depth of the mortar too. The fragility of the overhanging 1/2 tiles is questionable, but if this is just an access panel that gets opened maybe once a year, it's reasonable.
Real-world use could be an access panel for the inside of a firewood pass-through, via wall tiles on a hearth. Needs to be a bit beefier for daily use though.

I like hidden doors which can lead to secret rooms or passages I would probably feel right at home in the Adam's family mansion
-
Now that stone faced hidden door is cool, course I like the subway tile door also.
People can do such clever things.
