Two handed gouge for violin plate carving

Hi,
here is gouge I adapted to be handled with both hands for more strength and to prevent blisters when rough carving violin plates.

Very nice work Christope, I assume that is a copper cap? Was that on the original gouge?

Hi Steve,
No the original gouge had a steel cap, on an ash hexagonal handle. It is a french "Auriou" gouge (they are more famous for their handmade rasp).
