This is my vawt it is made of pine wood covered with aluminum sheeting and the tower is made of steel.
It can produce 500 watts with the generator I have in it now in a good wind..

I liked it very much. I am planning a similar one and started sourcing various components for it. Did you build your own PM rotor & stator, including coiling or used a ready to buy PM generator? I wish to build these myself. I have an inverter of 2 KW with appropriate batter bank, which gets charged from the grid now. I wish to build VAWT with enough power generated to charge my battery bank, so that my inverter would do the rest to supply me AC power to my home. I am in india and we use 24oV grid supply and all our appliances work on that voltage.

I bought the generator already made you will see it, but i have little wind here so I don't know how much power it will make,
probably 500 watts. My vawt wings are 4 foot long if you plan to get max wind maby you should make it bigger than mine?
I used a washing machine motor on my hawt from Austraila and it put out 1 kilowatt, see my other windmill on the forum.
