    waste oil forge

I made a waste oil forge-smelter. It gets really hot. It is made from an 18in dia. pipe. I have no refractory cement or fire brick. During firing I can glow the whole thing red. What I need to know is if by chance I have a catastrophic failure will it melt into itself or blow up? Neither one is good but one is way worse.

    Hi spazzmodical,

We'd all love to see your forge. If you post a photo and any more details you'd like to share, I'll add it to the database directly.
