How to Use The ClampTite Tool
Is that one of these? US Patent: 1,990,820 - Clamping tool I picked one up for a buck here at a yard sale. Just because I didn't know what it was. Plus it was only a dollar.
OK brianhw, here is my version of your tool. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks,
Rick
Wish I'd seen this before & made the threaded rod version, much superior,I'll have to make one!! well done.
Thanks, Rick, - Your's is a good heavy duty version that will pull thicker wire with the leverage of a ratchet socket. The fact that the bolt is not as pretty as it might be, does in no way detract from its functionality !
Thanks for posting.
proerly Simple!
Good on You!
Thank you for creating n sharing
I never gave much thought about needing or wanting one until I watched the video. I can see how handy this would be when working with silicone tubing
Congratulations brianhw - your Wire Binding Tool is the Homemade Tool of the Week!
Some of the simpler homemade tools are the more appreciated ones, and this one certainly qualifies. This is an especially good use of a bicycle wheel wing nut, and the video makes it easy for anyone to reproduce this tool.
Some nice pics this week: Traveling Steady by olderdan, a Mill Clamp by mars-red, Line Boring Bar Stabilizers by Frank S, a Combustion Chamber Polishing Tool by hemmjo, and a Miniature Boring Head by mars-red.

I have made three types of wire binding tools and think this one is the easiest to use and best and uses the least amount of wire. do
Since making it I have redone about a dozen air line ends that are from 115 to 165 psi. so far no issues and with a rap of tap will not tear your hands up

I just follow a you tuber on how he made it, it is not pretty but works great. and it was made from an old pair of plies my dad left me that I had in my old tools box. I plan on making a cleaner type one from lamp chain pliers, but wanted to see if the tool was worth the effort.
this is my version of the clamptite.

Ed, I notice that you're using TinyPic to store your photos.
I hope it doesn't spoil your day but if you read their Terms of Use statement, you'll discover that they are owned by PhotoBucket! Given their current gyrations, you may want to rethink them as your storage location.
