Woodcarving gouges
These front bent, back bent and spoon woodcarving gouges have been forged from spoon augers, the tangs forged & ground and set in homemade handles.Attachment 6793Attachment 6792Attachment 6794Attachment 6795You can see in this picture, three small adzes. I just forged cups in them.
In order not to heat too much, or lose the piece in the fire, I cut a mouth in a short piece of tube and placed over the tuyere, feeding in fuel as needed.[ATTACH=CONFIG]6796[/ATTACH
I asked some woodcarving friends to try them out, in case I had tempered them too hard or too soft, but they were all right.
