DESCRIPTION:
Homemade electric crane adapted from an engine hoist and powered by an electric winch normally used for off-roading purposes. A set of pulleys guides the winch cable, with a snatch block adding stability, while slowing the rate of cable travel.

Great idea. I like it. Raise the boom as high as needed with hydraulics then lift load with winch. reminds me of the one I just mounted on my truck. My next project is a log splitter for my skid-steer. And who knows what's next!

I'm not sure I'm getting the picture.  The hydraulic cylinder is raised by the electric winch?  Correct?
