DESCRIPTION:
Homemade self-tensioning workbench clamps constructed from spruce plywood. Clamps were shaped to form a Bernoulli curve.

I too like these a lot. Similar to what I might call a cam clamp. Since they are a fixed width apart there one needs to decide the most common sized workpiece...or provide for lot's of holes to relocate one side of the clamp.
