Homemade motorcycle jack adapted from a scissor jack and featuring a rectangular channel welded to the original lift pad to yield a larger contact area. Extensions have also been added to the base for improved stability.

Yes, extra wide bases make perfect sense...and make the jack easier to use.

I've never been a fan of scissors jacks but are now seeing them in a new light with the adaptations I've seen here.
