Homemade non-pressurized sand filtration system for swimming pools. Constructed from a 55-gallon drum and PVC. Water is forced through the filter by a pump.

Reminded me of the water filters we used to dig beside rivers in my scout days, which we then treated with halazone tablets for drinking.
