Hi again Steve. My apology for duplicating my comment. Having noticed the other comment let me explain our motivation for treadleing: We are a few grey heads, involved with our local museum and are putting some effort in makimng it work/function like in the 1700 and 1800. We are also collecting (and making) tools from that period to be used in our "Cabinet Makers workshop".any help will be appreciated. Regards. Willie..

Hi Steve. Very nice looking lathe you have there. We build one very similar to yours, but we find it a bit strenuous to keep it rotating at opperational revolutions. Admitted -all of us are pensioners but would prefer some other reason (excuse) for sweating when using the lathe! Please advise us

Hi Steve. Please advise me as to the ease with which your lathe opperates. We build one, very similar to yours, but we find it rather difficult to keep it running/rotating. All of us are pensioners but would prefer some other reaason for us sweating whewe work on it!

While it's a very nice build, it's a tad impractical as there are many ways to power a lathe nowadays. Good for heritage/history buffs though.
