1833 Ottoman seven-barrel flintlock - photo

side view picture.
This gun would make good riot dispersal tool, load each barrel with a half cup of frozen English peas, level it of in front of the crowd then fire all seven barrels at once
-
No sensible warrior could or would want to carry it in battle so, if used at all, it must have been in a fixed emplacement, perhaps a murder hole-like slit in the wall of a castle's entryway lobby. It might also have been used onboard a ship to repel boarders.
The reloading delay makes it pretty much a one-time weapon.

Yep, you better get them ALL with the first shot!!

Or have several of them preloaded along with a team of individuals to reload as each weapon was fired then changed out for the next. As mklotz mentioned fireing from murder slots would be the best way to use this as a defensive weapon.
Altering them so several could be stacked on top of each other would greatly increase the intimidation factor. The sudden barrage 00 shot fired from a battery of 3 or 4 of these weapons mounted as a cassette then quickly replaced with follow on cassettes could have the same intimidation factor as 100s of archers stationed atop of the parapet

Like for a one-man firing squad... except with no doubt as to who the triggerman was.
