    Interesting. I thought I recognized the small tower on the island in the river from my trip down the Rhine. The so-called 'Mauseturm' (mouse tower) was part of the enforcement that ensured that the local Rhenish aristocrats got their tribute from the ships sailing the river.

    My suspicions were confirmed when I read the title of the book "Das Rheinthal", the Rhine valley.
