2014 Robert Horn recumbent motorcycle - photo and video

The amazing thing with Robert's creations, and there have been others, is that they are built with minimal tools out of a very small garden shed. They are built to a high engineering standard.

Not sure this bike would be able to pass the U - Turn in the box test. Turning radius looks a bit wide.

Race tracks do not have a lot of box tests.

Wonder what the ramifications of the rider's position would be in a crash situation? Hopefully it won't happen but that's why they're called accidents.

Crashing is part of racing, so it probably will happen. There are many ways to crash but in general this bike is likely to cause less rider damage. Firstly, you are closer to the ground so not so far to fall in the case of sliding out. The tendency to hi-side is reduced due to several factors and if it did then the rider will probably fly at a lower altitude giving a gentler landing.
