    2x72 belt grinder

So I started making a belt grinder. 2x72. I’m going to use a treadmill motor and controls. The wheels were given to me by my brother. This is the beginning of this build. If you have any ideas about where or how I should do this. Please let me know on the video on YouTube. Thanks guys.

Having made a few 2x72 belt grinders before, I congratulate you on your endeavor. Although I haven't seen the frame you are working on, I will venture to say you will likely run into problems with this design. The belt and drive wheel need to be clear of the frame. This clearance needs to extend all the way out to the platen wheels. It's like the wheels have to be on the other side of the platen mounting plate.

You can see the one's I and many, many others have made at DIY Knifemaker's Info Center: BG-272 DIY 2 x 72" Belt Grinder and my Sayber OSG (Open Source Grinder) can be seen here: Dan's DC1 - Sayber OSG Forum

I am available to help if you want to drop me an email. knives@dcknives.com

    Cheers,

    Dan
