OK, if there is no load, it works sort of ok, but at 1:20 you were able to slide the rod, so if you are trying to move a load, you could get enough friction slip that while it might maintain no backlash, it can't be used for any precision movement.
Was this just a thought experiment or do you have a practical application for this?
