A 3d vee block? and a double operation tool.

For this years Christmas project I was faced with the problem of accurately drilling into the corner of a cube. This 3 ball jig did the job.

Traditionally these blocks are made on a lathe, I decided to make them on the mill. The challenge was to design a single tool that performed two operations.

That's very cool. I have no idea when I would need this, but I want to build one.

I'm curious as to what, you regard as a 2 dimensional vee block...

I thought that as a standard vee block locates in two planes, you could say it uses 2 dimensions, although 2d but probably not technically correct. This locates in 3 planes so I called it a 3d vee block, it just seemed to describe it. There is probably a technical name for it, maybe someone can comment here and let us know.

That works too. I show a snooker ball mounted in the jig at the end.
