The beat-up screwdriver that can be used to open paint cans and as a general short pry-bar.
The cheap, long HF needle nose pliers that can be used to hold work in the propane torch flame. The tips are annealed, but who cares?
The rusty wrenches used when work in confined spaces prevents the use of a cheater bar and you break out the hammer.
I call them "loaners". When the clueless neighbor asks to borrow a widget, I open the drawer that contains the stuff I found along the railroad track.
