I'm new to this forum. I'm usually pretty fugal and would prefer to make my own tools if practical. I put together a diamond grinder that turns at a slow speed like the Accu-Finish grinders. Video here:

Great video, and nice project. I could sure use a slow-speed grinder like that. For your adapter you made to mate the motor to backing plate, rather than just cut a 90 deg. for the shoulder, always do a slight undercut in the corner for clearance to eliminate the wobbles.
Also, I like your lathe set-up!

Would you also use slow speed grinder like this to sharpen those carbide tool bits that are brazed to metal shanks ?

Yes, you can even touch an edge on a carbide insert if it's not chipped.
