I was doing that 30+ years ago, but hardly ever do snail mail, now. My handwriting has always been, well, poor might be too optimistic, but passage of time certainly hasn't helped it. I took notes when I was in college on a laptop, and before that, going all the way back to the TRS-80 Model 1 Level 1 machines, wrote my letters on a desktop computer or a typewriter. Took a typing class in high school, and passed with good grades, as my mom told me if I did, she'd give me her Remington portable typewriter. That was in 1971 or 1972. I used that thing until some bastard stole it. Though it was getting hard to find ribbons for it. These days, it's desktop computer or phone. The laptop is getting a bit long in the tooth, just like me.
