    Acme Shake-O-Matic

Here is a project I finished a while back. It's for shaking spray paint. I thought some of you might be interested.

Nice idea. I like its design.

I have used reciprocating saw for shaking paint. Dull blade, plastic cup and duct tape. Saw is mounted to vise. Your version is much better looking, and maybe quieter too.

You have made an excellent can shaker. Is this something you might consider making for sale or is it more involved than you wish it to be for a side enterprise? If you would rather not, I understand completely. Either way, I congratulate your resulting project. Sincerely, mrfuzzy or Cliff

That looks awesome. My only concern is that it’s not mixing the paint thoroughly enough because as the paint settles it separates into layers from top to bottom.
In this shaker, the rattle in the can is only going from side to side around the bottom of the can. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Yes, I have built one and when I built mine I looked at different designs and went with a vertical shake. I can set the run time and the speed and it takes virtually any size rattle can.
I spoke to a paint rep about cans blocking up inside the can and not the nozzle and he let me know that shaking the cans properly is very important especially in hot weather as the paint goes like snott and the rattle helps break it up. I hope this helps. Cheers, Stuart.
