Here's how to add another carriage stop to the tailstock side of the lathe bed.

As an added benefit fit the tailstock-side stop to hold a dial indicator. Using a DI to accurately measure carriage movement is often useful and having the DI on the outboard side keeps it out of the hot swarf stream and ensures it doesn't interfere with moving the carriage close to the headstock.
Whenever you fit a DI to a carriage stop, fit a hard stop that will keep the carriage from accidentally driving the DI stem too far.
