Quite a detailed writeup, knoba. Thanks for the idea.
Knoba,
Your hand finishing work on the jig is remarkable. The surface finishes look perfect. I like the jig features and design.
Thank you for showing us the details of your work,
Paul
Hi Paul!
Thanks for your compliments!
I have the use of a very broad range of hand files and the surface finish is attributed to a "3m convolute deburring wheel".
Thanks for sharing your versatile design and build, Knoba. The fit and finish are remarkable with minimal tools and a lot of elbow grease. Also liked the beautiful Optical Center you showed on the build...did you make that too? Thanks! ~PJ
Thanks knoba! I've added your Adjustable Dowel Drilling Jig to our Drilling and Drill Presses category, as well as to your builder page: knoba's Homemade Tools. Your receipt:

Thank you for your compliments, PJs, most kind!
I used one of those curved toothed files, they really raft off aluminium fast, leaving me with plenty of elbow grease for draw filing with the smooth cuts.
The optical centre punch used is here: https://knoba.wordpress.com/2015/07/...-centre-punch/
Thank you for responding to all my posts and putting up my bits & pieces, Ken!
Could I ask that you credit all my builds to "knoba on https://knoba.wordpress.com", please?
Most welcome and deserved. I get it about the filing, especially the slots and draw filing can work you as well as the metal! ~¿@ The optical center is another wonderful fit and finish piece...Think I might try it as I've had a need off and on! Thanks for sharing it as well! ~PJ
Absolutely! Should be all set now.
You've been a busy builder!! What's next? :D
