Nice find on that trans cooler guys. I'm tempted to build this. I might drill the cooler for the lines. We live at high altitude and homes here don't have central AC, but there are a few hot weeks in summer, especially if you keep the shades open and the sun cooks the house.
All our windows are casements so the window AC units aren't great. I also don't want to spend $500 on a portable unit, and then have to install in-wall vents for it in both the great room and the master bedroom.

It's a scorching 77 degrees today, and it's expected to get up to 80 this week. I built one of these coolers and we're enjoying it right now. It's a bit loud, but I ended up putting it outside against the exterior house wall, and ducting it into the house via the 3" intake for the outside air kit for the woodstove.
I went with this cooler from Walmart.com. I added a grate to the fan intake. Instead of the hardware cloth/tin foil housing for the oil cooler, I went with R6 4" insulated flex duct, best price also here at Walmart.com. The rest of the bits came from Amazon.
I also drilled the cooler lid for those water lines, and ordered some cord grommets for the water pump electrical cord, so the lid closes properly.
