I don't have plans for the Mill Vise. I build tools from pictures and magazine articles, and suit the build to the pieces of metal that I have at hand.
A very nice job done here!
In another forum i visit the question of a homemade vise came up and many insisted that tool steel hardened and ground is the only acceptable materials. I tried to point out that no that isnt really the case. A vise can be made out of just about anything especially for home shop use. Obviously hard parts have advantages but as you did steel faces can make a big difference.
The fact is teel faces in vises is old hat to protect the softer underlying material. The practice is very common in cast iron vises.
Plans for these sorts of vises are all over the internet. Search for "screwless", "machinist", "insert" or "tool makers", vise.
That being said the concept is simple enough that you can build one without prints. If you build it to fit materials on hand you will likely need to change dimensions anyways.
