Now I know from a summer working among the Amish in Lancaster county, PA that spark plugs are REALLY, REALLY SINFUL. So how is it that his god isn't striking him dead on the spot?

OK, I'm just joking a bit. While working among them I grew to really like them, despite their batty religion. They're peaceful, quiet folks who will willingly help a stranger. Emulating their social skills would be good for a lot of people, just don't ask them for any help on mechanical or electrical stuff.
