    so... you can't use electricity for powering a machine tool, but hydraulics are OK ?

    I wondered the very same thing. Only thing I can imagine, that machine is used as a tracer, communicating hydraulically to oil-motors as servos? Mill in the pic could use that too, but more likely just driving the spindle.
