Hey all, I am thinking about building a new angle grinder stand with an articulating workrest. I was hoping you all could chime in on my design. Has anyone else done something similar? I searched the forum but only found chop saw frames for angle grinders. Maybe I am not using the right key words.

my belt sander does that.as well as my bigger belt sander that also has a disc sander. they do come in handy at times. I do like the adjustability yours has with the hight. witch would be nice for items that are irregular shaped and a spacer needed to space the part up to clear the irregular portion of the part from the flat table.
Yeah I have a grinder that has a 6" circular pad on it but its hard to change out, and I can't get the same RPMs out of it (it bogs down) So I am interested to see what I can do with this. I removed the height control on this design but I am going to build one with an RO that will have height control and possibly (if I can figure it out) an arm that would allow the work rest to sit flush and have a cut out for the pad so you can work flat. So many ideas, too little time! :)
I have the same issue with time and ideas. You should always look at other peoples ideas& projects nomater what the project is., they can lead to a better tool for you when you addapt a idea or feature to your idea. and you may even help them too!! now if my brain would only retain this stuff I would have it made...well when I got around tooit...as it is I cant seem to find a square tooit.
