Just finished the tool for my new the belt sander (Bosch Gbs 75ae).
I built it with metal scraps, waste from other projects or damaged parts. Pretty useful to sharpen bits and tools which don't require particular precision or shape parts.
I will build soon a sort of ruler to set the angle on the plate

Clearly you have followed the K.I.S.S. principle. It looks very robust, nice job and you can still sand a board.
Thank you! Few parts but pretty strong. The good thing to keep the scraps, they are always useful for something!
I tried also to make the rest easy to detach, a single hex screw locks the vertical frame (held in place by the bosch rail)
Apart from the noise, I'm satisfied with this used sander
Excellent idea. I have the same sander that I bought new years ago. I love the fact that they are stable on their back. I put a piece of drawer liner perforated rubber matting under it to help keep it from walking around.
Cool idea. I use a similar belt sander the same way, maybe I will make a stand too.

Weight and friction keep it from wandering.
I found in used market a 9403 model at good price, powerful tool! I was searching for a flat top model, possible to use on normal bench without particular stand. I found mine pretty stable without any clamp for most of work, probably better to lock for shaping parts. I found also a good Metabo with dedicated stand, unluckily too far from my city.
Anyway, these tools are really awsome!
