Another kitchen utensil used in my coolant system on the 4x6 bandsaw

Hi All

Following my last post on the filter for the coolant system on my 4x6 bandsaw https://www.homemadetools.net/forum/...t-filter-89443 this feeds into a funnel, pipe fittings and hose back to the tank.

The drip tray (adapted baking tray) and filter can be removed for cleaning and maintenance and this then gives access to the lower part of the coolant return plumbing.

The tray is held in place with thumb nuts held with lanyards so these nuts cannot be lost https://www.homemadetools.net/forum/cheap-lanyard-89333

The funnel is another kitchen utensil which is normally used to aid the process of filling jam jars, but was perfect for my needs. The pipe fittings are standard and fit to the funnel with a homemade turned threaded coupler.

The lower funnel section can also be removed from the machine to aid cleaning etc.

The Home Engineer; I like every feature of this project. My wet bandsaw, larger and really old, is needing much the same attention. Can offer just one suggestion that might help. Rig a little dam around filter base that stops larger particles, and small openings somewhat above the bottom creates a weir to restrain them as well. I have a post in here somewhere with example [part of heavy drill press project], it's top also covered.

Really good looking through all your old posts from the past to find this one

I think a could make a top hat fitting with holes around the side, at the bottom. This would also protect the fragile wire filter when the tray is removed for cleaning :bow:
