I assume the tool heats the strip? The the edging is sorta floated on no real pressure.

I was curious about that, too. The product page says "electronically controlled precision glue distribution system for maximum adhesion", so it apparently has a glue stick magazine that adds the glue to the back of the edging as it goes along.

At :26 you can see the glue roller pop back into the unit. You can see it contact the counter top surface pretty well from :23 to :26
