Balloon lifted farm field irrigation - GIF

Balloon lifted farm field irrigation. Perhaps not the single most practical GIF I have ever encountered. Nevertheless, a reminder that we will likely look back upon this era of the web with great fondness.

Except for the price of helium this would be a very economical way to irrigate a field 1 person on each end pulling it along. Might be a little troublesome in my re with our seasonal winds.

What they are putting on c-phones now seem to be a bain to photography, film, and graphics but you are right the grand kids will likely look back at these with Nostalgic Reverence, as we do with old tin-types and B/W movies and 16mm cameras. Just wish someone would teach them basic framing and lighting...

As for a sensibility of the tool...looks like fun but cost may be high. They could be automated with a roller feed on this end and an RC weighted car on the on the other end of the stringer...tie the two drives together...ta da.

    Thanks, Jon.

I'm not certain, but the cart and the spray heads lead me to believe they are actually spraying a pesticide(s), not water, and hydrogen would be a cheap, easily obtainable gas to float the lifting balloons. No smoking in the field, though.

I also think this is a chemical application of some kind. There is not enough volume being applied to be for irrigation. Must be some good stuff as she appears to be very happy applying it.
