Ok the kit comes with:
1 check valve
1 counterweight
1 drive mechanism
Some bamboo and poly pipe
Even has intuitive controls
The 'Poverty Trap' is brutal.
They only have their own time to spend instead of money.
It takes three of them a half hour to pump the same amount of water any one of us could pump by flipping a switch for 30 seconds.
Their time is spent in very low-level tasks, which devours their time, which is the only true riches we have (as far as building civilization).
Sigh . . . it is truly a broken world.
OTOH, hand some high school quarterback a piece of bamboo and task him to get water out of a hole. Hand these impoverished folks a piece of modern junk and I'll wager they can think of a dozen ways to repurpose it in the time it takes a quarterback to google its original use.Quote:
