    Bar Gauge – Beam Compass

This tool is inspired in some commercial items:

Veritas Tools - Measuring Tools - Bar Gauge
    https://www.woodpeck.com/onetime-too...stem-2019.html
    http://www.rockler.com/rockler-3-in-1-bar-gauge

The sliding bodies are 2 x 1.75 x 1” wooden blocks, the bars are 3/8”Ø steel tubes, the trammel head and tips are brass pieces made with the Unimat lathe.

This tool is useful for inside measurements (blunt-end tips), for checking diagonals and verify that an assembly is square (arrow-shaped tips), for transferring a dimension directly to the table or miter saw, and for scribing circles or arcs (trammel head).
    Regards.
