"Abandon hope all ye who board her"?

Also it looks like that photo's been altered, looks like about a third of the ship isn't there...

Compared to expectations, this hull does look short forward of front stacks, more than perspective foreshortening. Our picture obscures bow with a bridge under construction. Pictures (Wikipedia) of entire length show forward section is not far ahead of the stacks either, but substantially longer overall.

Looks like a double swing bridge, not one under construction. The other half is seen along the right side of the photo.

    Interesting ship...

Four turrets (two amidships) each with three 12" guns
Three submerged torpedo tubes - one in the stern
    Two rudders

and that delightful sunny patio on the stern where the officers could smoke while they sipped their Campari.

Never fired a shot in anger.

    Far more than anticipated......interesting none-the-less.
Not unlike trip to library for reference materials on subject 'X' and finding thick volumes, know you'll dwell awhile when a web page slider bar is only 10 or 12 millimeters high.
Aka 'rabbit holes', think comparison to work of gophers and moles is more apt.

A fun game I play with myself is to think of a question for which an answer CANNOT be found on the internet. Must be a real question that has an answer, none of this type:

What is the meaning of life?

Can god make a rock so heavy he can't lift it?

How many angels can dance the tango?

So far I've had a remarkable lack of success. That speaks to the breadth of the internet or my lack of ingenuity. I'm going with all of the above.
