    Beautiful heavy duty knob

    Hi all!
I just finished a beautiful knob for my horn stand.
Brass body with 16mm solid A316 rods, M10 threaded. I polished the sides and applied engine turning on the front surface.
Since here it's impossible to have Cratex rods, (minimum order from US too high for me) I tried in the past the leather pad, nice but not durable solution. Considering the pressure exerted on the plate, the speed and the heat, it was easy to destroy the pad, no matter what glue used.
This time I tried only a wooden rod, 10 second, one finger on the wheel lever, medium rpm. A mixture of grease and pure silicon carbide is the cutting paste.

Clearly inspired by a naval wheel or a Remington safe knob. I'm considering to build a couple for my lathe.

    Thank you!
You're right, the rods could gran something if used on power feeds, they should be good for static works.
Anyway, this couple of horn in particular will be installed soon in my horn stand, I post a couple of pics
