Bell made from an old CO2 fire suppression system nozzle

The nozzle had a 3/4" NPT opening on the top so I welded a 3/4" NPT plug to a 1/2" NPT tee fitting, then I bored the other ports of the tee to let a piece of 1/2" EMT slip through for the bell to pivot on. I welded a piece of 1/8" X 3/4" X 4" long flat iron on top of the tee for a lanyard. Fabricated a clapper (w/a small ring on the bottom "just in case"). Cobbled up a stand for it that can be mounted either horizontal or vertical. Bell is 5" diameter and 9" long.

Very cool. Where do you get the nozzles? My Dad is a retired fire officer and he would love this.

Dunno where you might get one, this one came from a decommissioned diesel power plant that was built in the '50s. You might try fire fighting apparatus dealers, or possibly your dad might know of a source or point you in the right direction. HTH

Edit: My daughter told me that they had similar but smaller ones in the McDonalds that she worked at.
