When I saw it here in Clinton, Iowa, I was surprised at the height, that it was not taller, but the extreme length of the engine. It was truly a sight to see, maybe something I will never have the opportunity to see again in my life. Thank goodness the railroad has seen fit to not only preserve, but restore it to running condition with plans to use it.
the museum of transportation in st louis mo has a big boy on display,,and u can get up in the cab of it too..great place, need at least 2 hrs to see it all.. worth it.
I was always fascinated with these steam loco's growing up. I must say that this one is huge. Love it.
Supremely patient model makers built operational miniatures of these steam titans.
