Paul, yea, they do have that understanding of completing a task...same with Kookaburras, and their ever patient wait for a worm or grub to surface, their dive (and they are NOT the most agile of birds) and capture of the morsel of meat...and then an instinctive neck thrashing to kill it, followed by an upward thrust of their head as they visually gulp it down...absolute magic to watch!
