For collecting eagle feathers Apaches would build a conical stone structure with an opening at the top. Into it they would place an injured rabbit/hare (They squeal awfully.). Th eagle would drop into the structure and not be able to fly out. Feathers would be harvested and the eagle released. Repeat. Looks like a scaled-up Rat trap with netting added. Clever design.
