Do you use an anti-flashback valve in the propane line?
Attachment 48662
No. But yes, I have heard about anti-flashback valves and I am not entirely sure if it is necessary to install them in my burner, although people have been working on such burners for years (without anti-flashback valves).
I am not a pro in these matters, but I have read that they need to be installed only if there is a pre-mixing of the combustible mixture and oxygen. There is no pre-mixing in the T-Frosty burner.
There is no pre-mixing on a cooking gas stove either, and I have not heard that it is recommended to install anti-flashback valves on them.
If you or someone else is more knowledgeable on this issue, I would be happy to hear the opinion of a professional.
I am not a professional in these matters and I have used oxy-acetylene welding and cutting torches without flashback protectors. However, that was before I knew about them or the potential danger.
You make a good point about a cooking stove and I am sure that the risk with your burner is low.
