A Blade Holder For a Ryobi Reciprocating Saw

My new saw is battery powered making it ideal for grab and go situations. Storing the blade in the saw is handy but exposes it to possible damage. Storing it separately risks grabbing the saw and forgetting to also grab the blade. My solution is to store the blade on the saw, not in it.

Nice simple fix Rick, I too use corded tools when I can but my gripe is getting all that cord and plug back into the ultra tight fitting boxes they all come with. I have been thinking of a universal plug on an extension lead to fit them all, any ideas?.

Olderdan,

Are you talking about the unique plugs that go into the tool housing? If so, you could cut them all to be 2” long and put a standard male plug on the end.

Thanks for responding Rick, sorry for the delay, been moving house.
That was my thought on a spare extension reel but the only fly lead plugs I can find are 2 pin and just a push fit liable to dissconect, still looking though.

Well, if you try to pull the trigger, the blade will remind you that it is not installed.

Find an old electric weedeater, sidewalk edger or leafblower. They have that big male plug with the plastic surround. We seldom can get a bid on them at the auction. I seep eople who have thrown them out in the garbage all the time. Then all you need is a good quality extension cord.
