Block Plane for Shooting Board

This is a little (150 × 40 × 30 mm) block plane that I've recently finished making (partly as an exercise in figuring out how to make things like this and partly because I think it'll be useful). All parts (including the blade and the adjustment mechanism) were made by me.

It's primary use will be shooting end grain, running in a track ploughed in the shooting board that forms the front cover of my home-made combined tool chest & workbench.



For a better sense of scale (it's a dinky little plane!), this photo shows it alongside its predecessor (also home-made) and a commercial (Quangsheng) low-angle block plane:
