Blueing stainless screws - need advice

    Hi all!
Someone here has ever tried blueing stainless screws? I know it's a common clockmaker pratice.
Few days ago I did the seasoning of a iron cooking pan, with fine salt first and then oil till smoke. I'm not completely satisfied about the result, that's why I'm searching for info.

I found this video on YouTube, it seems that the brass chips help to keep temperature constant. Do you think salt would work also?
I read that for A304 the blue color should be 540°C. Should it necessary to fix the color with oil at smoking temp?

    Thanks

Ps: I build this custom reflex port for my new Crystal 10 ( Lii audio) speaker
